Beer shacks, beer kiosks, beer huts, beer stalls, bar beer, alfresco bars, bar beer they have been called many names. These are the open-air type bars which have a roof but no walls. Most start humming when the bar girls arrive at around 5.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The official closing time is 1.00 a.m. It's difficult to estimate how many of these bars there are in Pattaya most resources say there are about 2,500 of them. Multiply that by an average of fifteen bar girls per bar to arrive at an interesting statistic. |

A small bottle of beer will cost you around 45 to 60 baht in most of these bars. In some bars the music is "over the top" loud. They seem to compete.
Don't be misled by the name "Beer Bar" they sell more than just beer. You can indulge in spirits, liquors, cocktails and just soft drink or a fruit juice.

Thai Beer Bar Girls
The staff at these Beer Bars or Bar Beer are mostly service girls. If you fancy a particular Pattaya bar girl at one of these beer bars and you would like her company away from the beer bar the standard bar fee (Bar Fine) paid to the bar is around 200 baht.
Remember that the girl can choose whether or not she would like to accompany you.
Depending on what the two of you decide to do once you leave the bar there may be further fees to negotiate.
It is usually wise to complete that negotiation with your new friend before you leave the bar. Doing that will avoid any misunderstanding later and allow both of you a chance to decide whether or not you should continue the courtship.

Beer Bars Everywhere

Beer bars can be found all over Pattaya, with the major concentrations being along and around Soi 7 / Soi 8 and Walking Street, at numerous points on Second Road, Beach Road, Soi Dianna, Soi Buakhao, and in smaller numbers just about everywhere else, including along the southern end of Naklua Road and at Jomtien.
